Character: Satsu Himeji
Looks&PB: Satsu is fairly short at around 5'4", with a thin, feminine frame that seems almost too delicate. His hair is around shoulderlength and black, usually well cared for but occasionally falling in front of his deep brown eyes. He generally wears a white yukata underneath a loose red robe, both having a slight tendancy to slip down his shoulders. His expression is generally bright and cheerful, although he's getting used to acting more serious around his parents.
Background: Satsu grew up in the Amatsu Castle, raised from a young age as a warrior. However, he never was very good with the bow, having a tendancy to hit nearby trees or patches of dirt around his feet instead of the target. He still tried to train himself to be better, and managed to improve his accuracy if not his range.

His main skills lay in calligraphy and poetry, and he spent a great deal of time listening to the court muscicians. He began to train his own voice, quickly discovering that he had at least some natural talent, often singing to his sister Mitsu, who at the time was his closest companion. Eventually, after a family dinner at around the age of 14, he sang a piece of his own composition for his father, expecting joy that he had found his gift at last.

Instead, his father got violently angry that his son was becoming still more feminine, nearly hitting the young boy. Satsu failed to understand, and continued to train himself. He now tries to avoid talking about his love for music with his father, instead conversing about weapons or court politics despite his lack of interest. However, he's open about his dreams elsewhere - especially with Mitsu, who is still closest and dearest to his heart.
Personality: Satsu is primarily oblivious, unaware of the various rivalries and conflicts that are occuring in the court. He's always cheery and optimistic, believing that the bonds between Mitsu and Akiyo can be mended in time and that his father will eventually recognize his goals. He's also dedicated to pleasing his family until then, working dilligently to train himself in appropriate courtly arts.

His bonds to his sister are close-knit, and he feels truly open around the girl. Many of his problems get confided to her first, and he's working to try to change Akiyo for her sake. (Not to say he doesn't love Akiyo too, but their ties are not nearly as close.) He believes her to be a wonderful dancer, and wants the opportunity to work with her more often.

Satsu fails to understand his father, but has come to recognize the man's goals for him, and strives to fufill them to the best of his ability. However, due to this lack of comprehension, he tends to fail horribly.
